Descriptive Essay
During my winter break I traveled to Zacatecas, Mexico. The purpose of my trip to Zacatecas was to see a house that my mother was going to sell after it being bass on to my mother by my grandma. There was just a issue, we did not know the value of the property, but what we did know was that the location of the house was in centric zone of a town which when it comes to property value real estate usually look and the location and size. Lots of things happened through out the trip to Zacatecas.
There was some bad luck going on through out the trip. First we missed out flight to the airport early in the morning because of an incident that happen in the freeway with my uncle’s car, where his front right rim flew out of its place and rolling into the side of the freeway. Luckily nothing happened to us and that’s the most important part. Since we missed our flight there was fees to reschedule our flight to Zacatecas. We then had to stay in a hotel in Mexico and wait for our flight in the next morning. The next day after making it to the airport on time and finally got out seats on the plane now we sit back and just relax, but the bad luck wasn’t over yet.
When we arrived in Zacatecas we were picked up by my mothers sister in law. Taking us to a relative’s house to stay for the week we were going to be there. Wow unbelievable, the house did not look bad after all but the only bad thing was that the doors were just so tiny and narrow since the majority of people are short in Mexico. The moment I walked in with the duffle bags, in it all my clothes and other stuff. I bumped my head hard against the top of the entrance door. Few minutes later after unpacking the taxi I began to notice that my head was feeling weird and my scalp was itchy so when I scratched it I felt the huge bump I had on my head, for me it felt like and ant pile was on my head.
After fixing the clothes into the walk in closet, I began to feel hungry after a huge meal I had eaten before our flight to Zacatecas. So I asked my mothers sister in law if I could eat anything from the kitchen and she replied “yes go ahead, make yourself home…don’t ask me to use or grab anything, my house is your house” as she was smiling. So as I ran towards the kitchen as if I were starving I accidentally slammed my foot against an uneven tile in the floor. The pain was unbearable to hold in, I began to yell and my mother came to help me up and she later put ice on my toe to reduce the swelling because my toe looked like an inflated red balloon. Even after an hour my foot was still swollen and the pain was just as it was when I had crashed my foot with the uneven tile. I had told my mother than I think its not just swollen but I think I hit the uneven tile hard enough to have fracture my toe. I could not even walk and i'm dealing with a pain that does not go away. So I told my mother if we could set up an appointment with the doctor the next morning. The sun is rising and I wake up with the pain on my foot, not such a great morning for me. We than began getting prepared and I had to eat so I did my best to walk on the bottom back of my ankle, very complicating but I managed to do it. So I went to the kitchen now knowing of the uneven tile just lying on the floor waiting for its next victim when I bumped my head again, I yelled again but this time swearing. Can’t this bad luck fade away or is their something bad I did before that is returning like people “say karma always comes back and gets you.” We then left to the doctors and they did a couple of x-rays of my foot when it came out to be a very small fracture. The doctor then gave me a prescription for pain killers and a weird looking medical device for my fractured toe. After a few hours the pain began to fade, wow what a pleasant feeling. I can now relax.
While I stayed home lying down because of my foot, my mother and my younger sibling went out to see the house and how the condition of the house was. My mother said that the house wasn’t bad looking although it was dirty because no one had been living there for seven years. They began to look to a real estate person to give them a value of the property. The value came out to be a good price…well at least in Mexico because of the economy; the property estimate value was $120,000. My mother then had to pay the real estate person a fee for evaluating the property. My mother came back to the house with exciting news to tell us, my aunt, grandmother and I. As the day was ending we went out to go eat at a restaurant called “La comida del cielo” which means foods from the heavens. The food their was astonishing and mouth watering.
After the foot and head injuries, I had no longer experienced any negative luck. We then began packing the night before the flight back to Los Angeles. It was a hurtful trip with all the injuries. But I got to visit where my grandmother was born and we found out the value of the house after all. When we got back to Los Angeles, it had been two day before new years. We got back home exhausted and jetlagged. The day of New Years we went to a house of my mother’s friend. We ate their, a lot of other people where there, there were fire works and lots of food which caught my attention the most because i'm a big eater. As soon the clock was counting down on the television and finally it twelve the room went from being a big crowd of people to big crowd of animals, people yelling “Happy New Years!!!” and beverages being smashed together. It was a fun night with the crowd of people that I had forgotten what happened in Mexico. The day after new years was a head ache, waking up late and tired because we stayed up all night celebrating. Few days later my Winter break finally came to and end and with the experience of Mexico and the celebrating in New Years Eve. I was exhausted to even go to school on Monday.
